Thanks Mike! The plot thickens. Maybe I have the wrong William Garrett attached to Jane Christian Garrett. I assumed that she was really Jane Christian and not Garrett until married to William. My William GARRETT is the son of William GARRETT = Catharine CANNELL and has no brother named Edmund although he was a shoemaker as was his son William. Edmond may(?) have been a cousin though that I have not learned of previously; I have no Edmunds in my database at this time. This will take some absorbing and puzzling whether we are, in fact, referring to the same William Garrett. William is a very popular name in my Garrett line. What were the sources for the information you quoted. I look forward to sorting out this new scenario.
