My reasons for thinking that John Collister married Elizabeth Starkey depend only on the following:

* Brian Lawson includes four sons of John Collister & Elizabeth Ann Starkey in his index of births - John George, William, Robert Arthur & Edwin

* The IGI has a marriage for John Collister and Elizabeth Ann Starkey on 23 Dec 1882 Braddan

* A descendant of John Collister (1859) gave me the information from the marriage certificate mentioned before, although I have not seen it personally and have no other details.

You are quite right that this does not prove that we are talking about the same Elizabeth Ann Starkey, and I would be grateful for any pointers towards the right one. I suppose it's also not impossible that a 23 year old widow Elizabeth Starkey nee Clarke could have married John Collister ?
