i just joined this list and hoping i can correspond with someone knowledgable with manx history.

my gggg grandfather was timothy cude, (cood), (coode) who came to the united states. the time frame would have been the early to mid 18th-century.

he reportedly was of welsh origin.

a recent analysis of my male dna indicates that their are pronounced similarities between my dna and the dna of other people who report their earliest known ancestor was welsh or manx.

i have always assumed that my unidentified paternal gggg grandfather came to the u.s. from scotland but dna indicates that a more likely location would be wales or manx. his nme was elijah murray.

i would like to correspond with someone who has knowledge of some of the major welsh/manx migrations and derivative surnames.
