I was wondering if anyone was trying to trace back the Sheards, from Peel.
I have uncovered a bit, but I am struggling now, trying to find out which John Sheard was the father of a John Sheard born c1816 ( parents John and Eliz. ).
2 John Sheards settled on the IoM after coming out of the army. One was born in Bradford c1769, and the other in Ovenden c1795.
I have looked at the LDS website, and according to their records, a John Sheard married an Eliz. Corkil in 1811, and another John Sheard married in 1820. It doesn't say what his spouse's name was, but I believe it could've been a Sarah Greenhow.
On another information source, it says that it was believed that the older John Sheard married an Eliz. Crellin ( Manx soldiers ).
I have also noticed on James Lawson's website ( great site ) that there was a Charles and a Catherine Sheard, in the wills section.
I would be most grateful if anyone has any information on the Sheards that they could pass on to me.
