Thanks for that information Frances - my Great Grandfather Robert Arthur Cleator was born at 1 Shaw's Brow in 1892 at his Mother's parent's house and I have always suspected from census documentation that it was slum property. It probably explains why the family moved to Bolton in Lancashire, although it has to be said that the property they moved to was little better.
