many thanks brian in the 1881 cencus he is given as sailor and labourer aged 23 .he died 1899 and in the local records office his trade is given as ships captain master mariner .he was born in liverpool but had moved too barrow in furness prior to 1881 at the time of his death he was living at 10 penrith st barrow in furness thanks mark
