I don't know - the whole transportation business was adopted from the English law and I doubt if there were any other similar cases re Manx transportees.
If he as a minor stayed on the Island then someone had to support him - the marriage was some 10 days after the census but I can't locate either party in the index to the census (possibly Brians 2nd ed may have corrected some entries) - but why marry in Ballaugh ? if his subsequent career was in Douglas
