I would like to thank the two gentlemen who replied to my post. The info from the 1901 census seems to prove he is the Frederick I am looking for. He didn't marry until the age of 31 and won't be found on the burial index as I believe he moved to Liverpool soon after his wife died and never came back to the Island and died "somewhere on the Wirral". Not sure what a "lead porter" is but when he married he called himself a "carter" - he was a bachelor and his father name was given as Thomas. Many thanks to you both again.....Pat
