Re: Eleanor Kaighin and Philip Corkhill

Hi again Jan,
Just to consolidate everything I have:

Eleanor was the daughter of James Kaighin and Eleanor Quayle. She was christened 27 Apr 1834 in Kirk Michael. She resided at Kirk Michael (1841); 16 Bigwell Street, Douglas (1851); Neirsdale, Kirk German (1861). Her occupation in 1851 was House Servant.

There is some doubt as to whether the 1861 record at Neirsdale is the correct Eleanor. Process of elimination has led me to conclude that this is her. However, if she married Philip prior to 1861 (and I haven't found that record), then this is obviously incorrect.

For all census records for her family please see:

Eleanor married twice, first marriage to Philip Corkhill (date unknown). Second to John Carter. She married John Carter 19 July 1868 at St. Silas, Liverpool, Lancashire.

Eleanor and John Carter (b. 1835.) had a son John Darlington Carter who married an Elizabeth Kaighin in 1890. (See free BSD, June quarter 1890, Norwich, 8a, 427)
