Hello everyone,
I received permission from Rodney Kaighen to post his phone number for anyone wishing to donate items or money for Moyra Kaighen. It is (US) 832-651-5001. He lives in Houston, Texas in the Central Time Zone.
The latest update we have regarding Moyra's condition is that she is fine. She had been scheduled to have knee surgury last week, but that has been postponed. We have seen from satellite images that her house on Arthur Drive in New Orleans is probably flooded in about 3-5 feet of water. This still probably means that due to the toxicity of the water and that her house was a single level, almost everything in it is ruined and/or looted. Rodney plans on going to New Orleans at the first opportunity to survey the damage and try to remove anything salvagable, but they don't expect to retrieve much.
I can't stress enough that what I am posting here is legitimate. I am a regular contributor to this forum as many of you know, and would never consider betraying the trust or confidence that I hope I have earned here. Even if you can't donate money or necessities, a word of encouragement will go a long way. The psycological impact that this event has had on every person in the affected region is unprecedented and life-lasting. Moyra is in a state of disbelief at this point and when realization does finally set in, the trauma will surely be severe.
So please join with me and let Moyra know that there is an entire community out here to support her.
As a side note, Moyra comes from a family of Kaighens who have long been associated with public service in the Isle of Man. Her grandfather, great grandfather and many uncles served in the Ramsey Life Boat service and dedicated their lives to helping others.

You can tie an email address directly to your checking account and then transfer funds to my paypal account. This process will take about 48 hours due to account verification. You can use Rodney's paypal account to donate directly to Moyra. His paypal email address is soccerjox@aol.com. You will use that for the "Recipient's Email" field. Paypal accepts currency transfers in American Dollars, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Euros, Japanese Yen or Pounds Sterling.
