THOMAS SILCOCK - Railway Inspector Isle of Man

Hi To All,

I am trying to find out any information on a THOMAS SILCOCK who was a Railway Permanent Way Inspector. This was on the Isle of Man Railway. This was between the years of 1872 - 1895. Known addresses he lived at:

On the 1881 census:
17 St George Street,
Onchan
Isle of Man

THOMAS SILCOCK age 44yrs
SARAH SILCOCK age 44yrs
ELIZABETH SILCOCK age 17yrs
SARAH SILCOCK age 13yrs
THOMAS SILCOCK age 9yrs
JOSEPH SILCOCK age 5yrs
sons and daughters above

ELLEN SILCOCK grandaughter 3yrs
On the 1881 census they have named the family as "RILCOCK" instead of "SILCOCK"

They also lived at the following address
Manchester House,
31 Peel Road,
Douglas.

I would be most interested to get any information on the above family.

I would also love to get any information in regard of the railway station, that THOMAS SILCOCK worked at.

Would there be any photographs of this railway station that I could purchase?

Has a book been written about the Isle of Man Railway?

Any advice or help in any of the above, I would greatly appreciate.

Many thanks,
Pauline.
