I plan to visit IOM in September 2005 and would love to find out more about these families before I get there.

Phillip Cowin ( born c1810 Lonan) and his wife Margaret Garrett (born c1823) emigrated to Australia in 1850s with their first two children, Thomas and Catherine Jane.

His father was Thomas Cowin (born c1782) who had married Margaret Karran (born 1785) on 26/1/1806 at Lonan Parish.

Thomas' father may have been another Phillip (born c 1730) with another Margaret as his wife.

I would greatly appreciate any confirmation of this or, even better, some more info. Jean Briggs of this forum is already of great help.
