Re: Christian, Quayle & Criggal

Hi Verity,
The starting point is the IGI
Go to www.familysearch.com
Click "Search"
Enter info you have (e,g. Fisrt name Thomas, Last Name Criggal)
In a box on the right, you will get a choice of sources.
Choose: IGI/British Isles
You will get a list and you can click refine search and select the country (Isle of Man), and/or event, parent/spouse names, dates and year or range of years. In this case you will get two marriages for Thomas Edward Criggal.
Thus you will get the name of the spouse(s).

Having got the name of Ellen (Elinor), you go to Brian Lawsons excellent site (www.lawsons.ca) which gives, among other information, an index of IOM burials. Click on tjis, and on the letter C.
Under Crin - Crye (there is an alphabet lapse here) you will find burial dates and locations of about 50 variations of Criggal, including Thomas Edward, Anne and Elinor.
Try it.
By the way two things are a little surprising:
Thomas seemas to have married Ellen quite young (he was 17 or 18) and to have remarried very soon (October 20) after Ellen's death (September 2).
Good luck
Bruce
