Re: Quilliam/Clucas
In Response To: Re: Quilliam/Clucas ()

This is what I know of my Quilliam & Clucas ancestors and their descendants:

Thomas Quilliam is in the 1830 Lorain, OH census, p.8, age 50-60 (1770-1780),
wife age 40-50 (1780-1790),
son 1 under 5,
son 1 10-15,
daughter 1 5-10,
3 daughters 15-20.

Cemetery records for Lorain Co show:
Carolina C Quilliam, age 48, wife of Thomas died 23 Apr 1833.
Thomas, age 11, died Avon, 29 Oct 1827, son of Thos. And Carolina.
John, age 16, died 15-Jul 1830, Avon, son T & Caroline.

Marriages registered in Lorain Co, OH for Elizabeth Quilliam and Cyrus Chase Jenks 19 Apr 1832.
Also for Margaret Quilliam and Dollin Moore 15 Jan 1831.

Descendants of Elizabeth Quilliam and Cyrus C Jenks in my line are:

John Edwin Jenks 1837, Boone/Winnebago Co, IL
Francis M Jenks 1840, Boone/Winnebago Co, IL
Ellen M Jenks, Boone/Winnebago Co, IL
Cyrus Henry Jenks, 1844, Boone/Winnebago Co, IL
Eveline E Jenks, 1849, Wisconsin

I am assuming Elizabeth died between the time of Eveline’s birth and the 1850 census. She was not in it and Cyrus married again soon after.

Francis M Jenks married Sarah E Briggs, 1845, MA or RI, on 8 Jul 1866 in Wright Co, MN.
Children:

Myrtle Althea Jenks, 16 May 1867, Mankato, Blue Earth, MN
Cyrus C Jenks, 1869, Wright Co, MN
Thomas Walter Jenks, 1872, Wright Co, MN
Chester B Jenks, 1874, Wright Co, MN

Francis married Bertha Oleson
Child Curtis C Jenks, 1879, Wright Co, MN

Francis died 12 Feb 1905, Winnebago Co, WI. Sarah must have died between 1874 and 1878 when Francis remarried. I have not found that information yet.

Myrtle Althea Jenks married George Alexander, 2nd Charles Thomas Pennell (29 Feb 1864, London, Eng), 3rd August Krull. Myrtle & Charles were married 4 Oct 1898, Emerado, Grand Forks, ND.

Children of Myrtle and Charles were:

There is a lot of information on the Jenks family on the internet and in libraries. They were quite an educated and high achieving family, producing governors, military officers, statesmen, college presidents. Cyrus was co-founder of Pioneer Press, the first constable and also the first public school teacher in MN. The Jenks are easy to find in research.

If you have questions on any of this or need more information, please contact me.
