Originally from Liverpool, living in Wimbledon, am researching my father's family Aldis- from Ramsey.My great grandmother's maiden name was Ball and her brother also lived on the island. Last July I spent a week on my own rediscovering the Isle of Man (visited in 1949 &1960) visiting graveyards, census addresses, and places (some non existant now) that were mentioned in messages on old post cards I have dating from 1904. I had a marvellous time and rather than "getting it out of my system" as my husband assumed, I can't wait to return in 2006 to do more walking and research. If anyone can provide any information on any member of the Aldis family or Ball family of Ramsey it would be much appreciated.
