Letters from IOM

My GG Grandfather, Robert Cannell (1860-1916), was born on IOM and came to the USA in the 1850's. In his estate papers were letters from relatives in IOM. Can anyone tell me about a boarding house called Ravens'cliffe, 9 Palace Terrace, Central Promenade, Douglas, IOM? The letters call him Uncle and are signed by Mrs. Cubbon. Some postcards have first names of Bina, Alice, Kitty, and Lillie. One letter is signed by May Mawson of Mount Murry.
We also found a pamplet named "Reminiscences of Notable Douglas Citizens and a Review of Manx Men and Manners, Fifty Years Ago" by James Cowin, 1902. It has a picture of a Robert Cannell but don't believe it is my GGGrand. Any ideas?
