Re: CALLOW in Castletown 1828
In Response To: Re: CALLOW in Castletown 1828 ()

I think the family were living at Derbyhaven, Malew, IOM on the 1841 census. The family household consisted of William, Jane, son Robert, son William, son Edward and son Evan. The two eldest sons were baptised at Braddan and the register there gave the mother's surname as Quayle. Edward, Evan and a daughter who died called Catherine Jane were born at Castletown. William Callow married Jane Quayle at Braddan on August 27th 1820.

I thought there was another daughter called Jemima but the dates don't fit and it appears there is another family with a William Callow and Jane Quayle as parents they are on the 1841 census at Big Well Street, Onchan with children Joseph and Jemima.
