In Response To: William Cottier ()

In running a search for a William Cottier who married a Catherine Kelly in Braddan, Isle of Man in 1725, the link to your 2010 query on the Manx BB came up.

I have a 1725 Douglas, Isle of Man christening record for a John Cottier that lists his parents as William Cottier and Catherine Kelly, which I've attached to this post..

John Cottier, born in 1725, died in 1790 and is buried in Marown Old St. Runius Churchyard with his son, William Cottier, died 1808, and with William Cottier's wife, Catherine Carolina Cottier, nee Christian, who died in 1841. The 1790 Will I found for John Cottier lists his wife's name as Elinor Cottier. Elinor Cottier's maiden name may be 'Cannon," but, so far, I can find no marriage record to confirm her last name.

Here's the Find-A-Grave link to John Cottier's 1790 burial which includes the inscription:
www.findagrave.com/memorial/251624549/john-cottier

William Cottier and Catherine Carolina Christian Cottier are the grandparents of my great great grandfather, Claudius Thomas Cottier, the son of Rev. John Cottier.

I don't know if you're still monitoring this board or if you've found the info you were seeking on the parents of William Cottier and Catherine Kelly, but if you are and have found the families of their parents, I'd grateful for any info or help on this Cottier family.
