Re: Skelly Radcliffe Quine in 1800s Castletown

Hello.

Thank you for your response! I am sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I have not checked the message board for a few weeks.

I'd love to correspond with you via email regarding Samuel Quine and his family. I do have a bit of information to share, and I have some questions for you. I do believe that I am also somehow related to Samuel Quine and Leonorah Baxter of Castletown. In the 1851 Castletown census, my 2GGrandfather, James Skelly Radcliffe, is listed as part of the household at age 9, and he is listed as "nephew". The interesting thing to note is that James Skelly Radcliffe's Uncle James Radcliffe (mother's brother) lives next door to the Quines as noted in the same census. I also believe that his birth father's family lived a couple doors south on the same street.

James Skelly Radcliffe's maternal grandmother is also a Quine, and there are two different Quine branches in her lineage. However, I cannot figure out how my James Skelly Radcliffe is connected to Samuel Quine and his family or if/ how he may be related to your Susannah Radcliffe. Maybe we could put our research together and figure it out.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
