I believe my ancestor could be Thomas Oldfield who married Isabel Halsal in 1784 at Kirk German.
They had 6 children.
I would be a descendant of their son James . I cannot find anything about James except that a James Oldfield married a Catherine in Whitehaven Cumberland . I have proof of this from their children's baptisms. I have no trace of James.
However there is a John Oldfield also married in Whitehaven and was drowned in 1833 possibly a mariner. I found he was born in the I.O.M and had a brother James. This is quite feasible as there was much sea crossing between I.O.M and Whitehaven.
This James had 4 brothers and a sister baptised in Kirk German between 1785 and 1802 and I am trying to find any info about this family. Any info much appreciated.
