I am trying to establish who the wife of John Knowles (born C1782 Scotland/died IOM). The information I have suggests John’s father was Rev George J Knowles (1750-1789/Scotland) and his mother was Martha Farquharson (1764-1820/Scotland). John’s wife could have been Elizabeth Taggart and their daughter Elizabeth Knowles (1814-1890) might of married John Lewney (1806-1864).
