Re: Thomas Skillicorn *PIC*
In Response To: Re: Thomas Skillicorn ()

Here are the entries from the Braddan marriage register for Thomas Skillicorn's first marriage to Ann Bell in 1834, and John Skillicorn's 1836 marriage to Cath Kelly. John's signature in 1836 looks the same as the witness signature for Thomas's 1834 marriage. I believe that they were probably brothers, both sons of William Skillicorn, weaver, and Isabella Quayle (John b 1804 and Thomas b 1807).

Census listings for John show that he was a weaver --- he probably inherited his father's loom etc ?

Have a look at Ancestry Public Member Trees search page and input John Skillicorn b 1804 Kk German, then search. Then click "view all" for the top entry. One of the entries which comes up is a private tree "Taylortree" which you can't view, but it reveals that it has 18 attached records for John Skillicorn. If you contact the tree owner, he might be willing to share information with you. And there's always the possibility of doing a DNA test to see if you have a match.
