Re: Edward Callow b IOM d Stockport

I think that Edward Smith Callow b 1787 can be ruled out as a possible husband of Mary Prussia because I’ve found the will (dictated 1817 in Bengal) of George Moore Callow (bap 25 Oct 1781 Malew, parents William Callow and Sarah Moore), and it names his siblings, William Callow, Catherine Cotten (Corteen) and Margaret Brew. If Edward Smith Callow had been alive, surely his name wouldn’t have been omitted from both his brother’s 1817 will and his father’s 1791 will (when Edward would have been a 4 year old).

Are there memorial inscriptions for this family which might include the name of an infant Edward Smith Callow circa 1789 ?

George Moore Callow was a surgeon in HM 8th Light Infantry. Probate of his will was granted in Calcutta in 1818. It’s included in Malew wills 1820, ref 106421, pages 115 to 119.
