I've only recently returned to the Quayle side and had doubts about William Edward Quayle for two reasons: one is the lack of birth or baptism details and as far as I was aware my father Jasper had only one brother, George Frederick.
However WEQ is listed as the son of William Henry Quayle and Jane Kermeen in the 1891 census and looks like him again in the 1911 where he is married to Gertrude Comaish with his daughter Maud.
His MI in the Maughold Old Yard reads " in loving memory of William Edward Quayle of Dreem Skerry beloved husband of Gertrude May Quayle born 23 Aug 1891 died 6 Dec 1912. Lily Agnes sister of the above and daughter of the late William Henry Quayle and Jane Quayle of Ramseyj born 26 July 1893 died 7 Dec 1916:
This confirms to that he is my Gt Uncle and that I met his daughter Maud during one of my visits to the Island in the 1970s.
Does anyone know anything about the address in the 1911 census "Margher E Brick Maughold"? It appears unusual.
Also the Janie Isabelle Quayle mentioned is the daughter of another William Henry Quayle and Ellen Jane Kermeen.
