Re: Lace family
In Response To: Lace family ()

Interesting, as I too have researched Thomas Lace, from Marown. This Thomas had two
illegitimate children with Peg Gelling at Ballanicholas Farm, Marown.
In 1841 Census Thomas is aged 30, Ag. Lab.living with his brother William,(25) and his brother's wife Margaret Lace. Also with brother Edward aged 15. Their parents were John Lace and Margaret Bridson. See John Lace's Will 1832 Marown , and Will of Margaret Lace, Marown 1828( I can email you copies). Married Marown Jan. 1810. I believeThomas was their eldest child. (Nov. 1810 Marown in Register just as THO.)
I assumed this Thomas Lace married Maria Kinrade May 1843.(1851 Census, living at Ballafreer Marown, 1861 at Leece Lodge Braddan, in 1871 aged 55 at Saddle Cottage Braddan, a Labourer. No mention in 1881 Census) A Thomas Lace was buried Marown, Sept 1875, aged 63. Also a T L buried Marown aged 67 July 1877. These two Thomas's were likely cousins. In 1812 Margaret Lace, (Marown) sister to John and Thomas Lace left a Will mentioning her two brothers, and her mother Elizabeth Lace,
This Marown Thomas Lace was my gggg father through his daughter, Elizabeth Lace. His son, her brother, John Lace never married and had children. John Lace left a short Will, leaving all his goods to my ggf Thomas Corkill. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have...if I can !
