William LACE of Ballavoddan, Blacksmith

Hello, I am looking for the parents of my ancestor William LACE of Ballavoddan, a blacksmith, who died in 1798. The first I know of William LACE is when he married Catherine KNEALE on the 22nd December 1759, both of Andreas. They had 2 children; “John, son of William Lace baptized Sept. 26, 1760” and “William, son of William Lace (Smith) baptized 4th March 1763”. After Catherine died on the 8th March 1763 “William LACE of the Parish of KK Andrea, widower and Margaret CHRISTIAN of this Parish of Lezayre, spinster, were married in this church (St. Judes) on the 22nd October 1763”. They had at least 8 children. Possibly the first was “Daniel, son of Wm. Lace, Smith baptized 29th September 1765”. William LACE died in March 1798. From his will (Archdeacon Wills 1798 #65, Andreas, of William Lace of Ballavoddan, Andreas) William LACE named his surviving children as William, Thomas, Elizabeth, Catherine, Jane, Esther and Ann. He left his son Thomas his tools, materials and products in his blacksmith’s workshop. William’s daughter Jane LACE married Charles GELLING, a shoemaker of Lezayre, on the 12th October 1800. After Charles GELLING died in June 1802 Jane LACE married Patrick CALEY in August 1803. Their daughter Jane Christian CALEY married William KELLY and came to South Australia. Lindsay.
