This is my note about his Manx roots from a few years ago I think it was my own research out of curiosity I don't know if it's useful or not or if it is accurate as I can't remember researching this and I don't seem to have any files for this on PC:-

He, his parents and grandparents were not born in the Isle of Man but the great grandfather was Robert Quilliam son of Robert Quilliam & Joney Quine baptised at Santon, Isle of Man 22 Feb 1778.
