Just looking through some online Minnesota newspapers there are some references to the Isle of Man and Manx people living there. For example a Mrs Quayle telling the newspaper about fairies on the island and a teacher of Greek called John Corrin Hutchinson.

Here's a mention of the island from an article about immigration:-

“One doesn't often meet a Manxman, but it is nevertheless a fact that ten per cent of the population of the little Isle of Man has moved to Canada and the United States in the last 15 years. In this country they scatter about, a family here and another there, so that they are quite lost among all the others. At Cleveland, Ohio, however, there is a Manx colony of several hundred households, and it is the only American city where the queer tongue of Greeba may be heard spoken on the streets.”
