I had not looked for Wm James MC , but it is on NZ BMD ,1873 , to Annetta Heldt , found 7 Children:

1875 Eva
1878 Henry
1880 Lena
1881 William
1884 Frederick
1887 Vera
1889 Isabel

On Papers Past , NZ Herald , married 26/3/1873. There is also an unclaimed letter in Nelson 30/9/1865, so he may have been in NZ as early as 1865.

John James ch 14/3/1852 in Braddan is on IGI , father residing in Douglas and a Shoemaker. Mother just given as Ann.

Have another look at the wedding Of John and Ann Kay, I think the witness is James Kay , the words "thousand" and "this" do not look like the first letter of witness Kay.
