Re: Clague/Cowley ancestry
In Response To: Re: Clague/Cowley ancestry ()

I moved to NZ in 2007 so I can't access paper files and can only see what is the index so I miss a lot of information that is only available within the local area.

My great grandmother was Violet Mary Harrison 1889 born in Kent, daughter of Josiah James Harrison from Yorkshire (1859) and Eleanor M Clague, IOM(1861). Eleanor was born in Douglas. She was the daughter of Thomas Clague 1832 and Eleanor Cowley 1833.

They lived in Summer Hill Cottage and Eleanor died 1899.

I am reliant on find my past and ancestry on the most likely linkages, but believe Her parents to be Thomas Clague who lived
to 1909 and Eleanor Cowley to 1919.

There is a birth record for Thomas whose father is listed as Philip Clague but I din't know how accurate this is, it gets a bit fuzzy without more detail.

I have gone from census details as much as I could, 1881 I can't find yet, and given the marriage year was 1888 in Kent as far as I can tell, I couldn't say what took her from the IOM to the South of England and then back so there is quite a gap there...

I will keep a look out, but other ancestry trees seem to show similar estimates...

Sorry to confuse, hopefully this is more clear.
