Re: Finding Graves of John & Sarah Garrett (Gellin

Hi Sue thank you for responding.
I am trying to find the graves of John & Sarah Garrett(my Great Grandparents) my mum and I were both born on the Isle of Man and visited 4 years ago and searched for days to find them but to no avail
We are Living in Australia
Sarah Garrett died 27/3/1928 (big write up in the Ramsey Courier 30/3/1928)
John Garrett died 11/3/31(again a big write up in theRamsey Courier 13/3/1931) they had a large write up as John was a Coxswain of the lifeboats for many years.
Apparently according to the Ramsey Courier dated 30/3/1928 Sarah was laid to rest close by to to the Grave of Robert Garrett(fatherinlaw) who died 5/2/1903 25 years earlier.
In a book inside the Church I found under number J 36 Robert Garrett 5/2/1903 & Isabella Garrett. 6/1/1911.....I found their Grave and next to them was a little marker with no name on it
Then in the book undernumber J35 Marker R.I.E??? That's why I'm trying to find out what R I E means maybe that little marker is John & Sarah's Grave?
Hope all this makes sense.
I am trying to locate them as my mum is 86 now and quite ill and I would love to tell her where her Grandparents were laid to rest before she passes.
I've ordered a CD through IOMFHS hopefully that will help me.
