Whiteboys Croft location

Hi Everyone,

After staring at documents, I did see last night that I overlooked a Philip Teare (spelled as he did with an "e") in the "1761 Rent Roll" on Nigel Crowe's website.

www.manxroots.info/andreas/openme.htm

This Philip is living on an intack called Whiteboys Croft (or White Boy's Croft). I did read about the White Boy custom on Frances' site and that it may have been where they practiced once upon a time.

Since this is Lib Assed. info I believe, it think it's clustered geographically - that is one farm next to another. If so, there are several other "Teare" family members nearby. I understand the concept of Intacks and Treens, but don't know what the "subsequent" column nor the non-rent numbers mean.

Finally, is there a way to pinpoint on a map where "White Boy's Croft" once was (I assume it's gone or in ruins)? Wondering if it adjoined Ballakinnag.

Thanks,
Lyle
