Yes, I've seen the Manorial Rolls 1511/1515. As alluded to earlier, there is a John McTere listed in Balydorghan (wherever in Andreas that is) and a Gibbon McTere and mother listed in Smeall (I know where that is). Certainly close to where we pick up my William McTere a century later. Seems best we can do given available records, right?

Yes, it's always sobering to me when I see one of my ancestors "mark" of an x on a document instead of a signature. I've also looked through the presentments and have found several instances of likely ancestors not behaving well!

You mentioned court records. Are these available via Family History Centers? Did the Mormons film them (hope so).
