Hi

I have seen several entries in 18th c Lezayre parish registers and wills that refer to "John Kneen (square)" and, once, "squire". In addition, JK's (presumed) eldest son Thomas Kneen has the same notation on his burial record (1815, Lez).

Is this a physical description, occupational descriptor, place name - any suggestions?
