I saw recently in an old letter to me that my LAING family came from the Isle of Man. John Laing and Elizabeth and son Duncan born 11 Dec 1844. They left in 1849 to go to Canada. John and Eliz. died soon after and Duncan was brought up in Perth Co. Canada West by an "aunt" last name Fleming or Fullarton.
