Douglas property is under Onchan (look up property towards bottom of index page) - however the summaries of these may not be there (One I've just done and the other was done only recently) - he paid £11 for the small ground wch included a house (later he and neighbour Robt Quilliam had an agreement that Wm could use the Quilliam's well) - £11 was a modest tho not insignificant amount - labourer might be deceptive as probably means Wm had not served time in a trade thus it is possible he was illeg or old enough to have some savings - you can look thro the wills for putative fathers tho I havn't seen any match - Alice is easy to finf 1760 will of John Cannon - dated 10 Jan [1760? but reads 1706?];ch Alice, James;gch John Cannon, John Corkill;wife Elinor exex - overleaf dated 3 Nov 1760 - Elinor als Cannell 'being old + not able to travel' passes exec to son James
