Re: Esther Cork(h)ill
In Response To: Esther Cork(h)ill ()

Hi Rob,

With so many Corkills you need to be more specific about the line you are looking for. As your couple married in Lezayre I'm assuming you are tracing back from one of their Lezayre baptised children? Which one? (To be certain I'm looking at the correct family.)

Sometimes grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc. are with the family in censuses, which can identify the maternal line.

Assuming Lezayre is correct for the children I had a look for a younger child with a relatively unusual name, and found Lewis (bapt 1837) with his mother a widow (crossed out) in 1841 in College St Ramsey. In 1851 Esther widow aged 47 b.Lezayre was with 3 of her children in Ramsey, all b.Lezayre. There is no obvious bapt for her, hence my question.
