Re: ann mylrea
In Response To: Re: ann mylrea ()

I just spotted this series, and I also have the same wrong parents for Ann Mylrea b 1807, wife of William Scarffe. I'm most interested in hearing how this turns out.

After Ann died in 1837, I have her husband William Mylrea marrying a widow Ann Cowley nee Gelling 26 Mar 1840 Lonan and they had a daughter Catharine the same year. Ann had married Thomas Cowley 16 Jan 1830 Kirk German and they had two children Ann 1830 & John 1833. Husband Thomas buried 11 Aug 1837 Kirk German. She might be the mother of illegitimate child John Gelling s/o John Perry & Ann Gelling 19 Aug 1826 Kirk German. I don't have a burial for this Ann but I have William Mylrea 30 Jul 1850 Lonan age 70.

The IGI marriage Lonan 26 Mar 1840 says both were widowed, with fathers "Edward Mylrea" and "William Gillins". I had Ann as the daughter of John Gelling & Elizabeth Walkington, bapt 27 Sep 1801 Kirk German, which doesn't match with the identified father in Ann's 1840 marriage. Another dilemma to solve some day.
