Hi Mike,

Unless someone knew her personally her birthdate is probably too recent for IoM information. You need to give details from Canadian records to be able to take her back another generation - her parents could then be checked in IoM records.
Have you tried passenger lists, Canadian censuses, marriage, death, and burial (gravestone) records?
You could apply for her birth certificate from the IoM General Registry.
See: www.gov.im/registries/general/civilregistry/
You can email them. See "Contacts" at the top.

- But it would be easier if you can supply her exact birthdate, which you might find in one of the above records. You have a different year of birth in this latest message than you did on this board in 2007?

Having written that, I had a look at the England/Wales FreeBMD index and found this marriage in the Sept quarter [July/Aug/Sept] 1943:

Surname/ First name(s) / Spouse/ District/ Vol/ Page

Radcliffe/ Joan K/ Roberts/ Chester/ 8a/ 959
Roberts/ John J/ Radcliffe / Chester/ 8a/ 959

I strongly suggest you buy a copy of this certificate to confirm the names and occupations of their fathers, as well as other details about the couple.

Sue
