Thanks Lionel, interesting info so I 've worked on it. It must be the Arthur Fergus Jackson I want but I then found a Mary Hand Jackson as a dau born in the date you gave 1865. Hand rather than Ann will tally as 'Hand ' was a previous family name. I then found Sarah Jackson aged 28, Mary H aged 6 & Kate 1 in the 1871 census (as visitors) Then in 1881 the 3 females were with 68 year old Mary Jobber (grandmother to the 2 chn). In 1891 I've found only Mary aged 24 working as a domestic & sister Kate aged 21 as a school mistress visiting Mary. I've been trying to find a death for Arthur Fergus in vain as from the 1861 census he seems to have disappeared from the research I'm trying. Thanks again for your help which got me a bit further .
