why not pay a local researcher then to look at reports of the funeral (+ death announcement) (the manx museum has a list - library@mnh.gov.im) however if you had no response to say a letter in the local press then you are unlikely to find a response here - your request is findable on google as it indexes this site and thus any family searcher would find it without a weekly repost. Telephone directories are online - can you find him in say a 1990's directory - if so try the number as the present occupant might be aware of the family. If you believe he was harbour master at ramsey (most unlikely unless he lived there) then try ringing the harbour office and asking - likewise try the local Peel museum (Leece museum - Roy knows the town + the locals very well, try also writing to Tim Crookall (MHK for Peel) as he too has a great knowledge of the locals.
