Hi Sue , right regiment , wrong campaign. It was the 1st World War , there are 11 Corkills listed. Louis Daniel Corkill was born in Duaringa , near Rockhampton , enlisted 21/10/1916 aged 21 years and 2 months. NOK father Louis Corkill.Started out in AIF 19-26th Battalion , April 1917 appointed to Wireless Training School in Sydney. Went to the M.E. Dec 1917 was stationed at Suez, Bombay, Basra and Baghdad, joined the First Australian Wireless Squadron 28/3/1918. His brother David Samuel aged 23 years and 6 months also joined., he gave mother Harriet as NOK. 10 of the Corkills were born in Australian Colonies except William aged 43 years , born Maughold IOM , NOK James Corkill , Ballamanagh, Lonan, IOM. William died of wounds in France 1917 and is buried in the Boulogne Military Cemetery.
