Re: Christmas *PIC*
In Response To: Christmas ()

Liz, I am absolutely sure that this is YOUR Robert Cain, husband of Margaret Crowe.
They married in Braddan on the, 12 Nov 1853.

Extracts from, The Manx Sun, Newspaper in 1888.

FATAL RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT. – INQUEST AND VERDICT. – The man
Robert Cain - died from the effects of the accident on Wednesday.
William Keig, tipman at the Promenade rubbish tip, deposed that Cain, who was fifty
-nine years of age, on the Thursday in question came with a horse and cart.
Cain was a married man, and was much respected as a sober, steady labourer.
He was in the employ of the Commissioners.

Facts that we know for sure,
From the Newspaper article, Robert Cain is born in 1829 and he is MARRIED.
On the marriage certificate of John Henry Cain -
his father is named, Robert Cain, his profession is - CARTER
In the 1881 Census Robert and Margaret are together at, 14 Hanover Street, Onchan.

Margaret Cain als Crowe is a Widow on the 1891 Census.

I have checked with Donna for an M.I. – and sadly, there is none.
I have checked to try and find where he is Buried and I can’t find anything.

Would his plot/grave number be on the Braddan Cemetery plan ???
