Thank You, Yes, it is something to consider. "Itm: My will is that my wyffe shall have the bringing up of my son until he comes to lawfull years of discretion" ----- "I charge my son upon my blessing that he do help my wyffe in the best manner he can, until he is able to help himself"
Nothing to suggest that his wife and his son are Mother & Son. Therefore William Ratcliffe might be the son of John Kermot's (previously widowed?)wife.
I had hoped that the will would confirm that John Kermot was the father of my eigth lateral great grandfather, Thomas Kermod -Died 1639. He isn't!
