Re: M.I. Malew - Cashin
In Response To: Re: M.I. Malew - Cashin ()

I've looked at my Cashin list. I have Joseph Henry C, born 31st May 1979, in Peel, son of Joseph Henry Cashin (!)who was born about 1853 in Peel and Margaret Jane Cowley. (Marriage 19 Dec 1778). He was a fisherman, often away at Kinsale at the time of the censuses.

I've checked the J.H. born in 1879 and in 1901, he was with his mother, a wife, not a widow and was a Mason's Labourer, living at 1 Graves' Court, Peel. His brothers Edward & William were there too. In 1911, he was on the S.S. Salvor at Woodside Stage, Birkenhead, working as an A.B. Seaman. His name was written as 'Cushin' but I'm sure it's my J.H. and yours, because he states that he has been married 4 years and has 2 living children.

As the J.H. born in 1853 was my great great uncle, I have much more on his family so let me know if you would like me to pass it on. My email is jasper twenty-six eleven AT aol.com. Please write the numbers as figures and use the @ sign, obviously.

Best wishes,
Jo (some sort of cousin?)
