Maghell was probably a phonetic approximation to Maughold - a parish with includes most of Ramsey - assuming he wasn't illiterate or that the form was filled in by someone for him or possibly mistranscribed, then it would indicate he wasn't personally familiar with the Island - outside of Ramsey(which surely would have been specified if this was the address) Maughold is sparsely populated, the actual village around the church about 4 miles from Ramsey comprises 5 or 6 houses - Port-e-vullen is a larger hamlet about mid way between Ramsey and Maughold Village.
