IoMFHS/Lawson - Burials: TAGGART, William 87 Malew 7 Jun 1787; ibid Wills: TAGGART, William 1788-1 Malew E jw 0106400; joint Will [1782] with wife Elinor als Bridson: he names grandson William [d/o Matthias & Jane Stevenson?] and granddaughter Eleanor Cain [d/o Martha & Thos Cain?] Elinor als Bridson's Will of 1795 names SON William [b1747] & dau Martha. William Taggart's age at death [87] supports his being born ca 1699, thus the s/o William Taggart jnr, not b.1708 s/o John. He may well have first married Jane Moor in 1721, but they had a son William bpt 1832-10-12, two days before burial of wife Jane. This would mean William b.1732 died before 1747 [there are 2x Wm Taggart deaths ca1740, but no confirmation]. Also other children from 1st marriage not named in his Will [they could well have been deceased by 1782].
