Thanks averil this is my mums aunt lily,
she lived at the top of our road for years until we moved to another area in 1966/7, for some reason my mother and lydia did not speak to each other,
but i knew of her,I used to get sent to her house with change for a shilling for our electric meter box , no one else would go for some reason in which i found out they were frightend of her,
i just wish someone knew of them darn cains, then maybe i would know once and for all if john henry had other sibblings,
Lydia's sister alice maude cowell married james robert clarke 10th april 1905, it says her father was john bateman, so i wonder if lydia was belonging to another man then as she later goes under the name Cain, would it be worth starting a new thread for alice maude clarke [ nee cowell ] or staying with cain
