Re: Clugston
In Response To: Re: Clugston/Cubbon ()

I have a Mary Clugston (Clogson) (b. abt. 1830), father ARCHIBALD, marrying a James Robinson on 7 Dec 1857 in Prestick, Lancs and a Mary Clugston m. 23 Aug 57 in Oldham, Lancs (I think same). Question is: Who is this Mary? I can't find a b.c. but she has to be the child of Archibald, brewer, IOM. Can anyone verify?
Secondly, Mary Robinson (age 30 - b. about 1835), father ARCHIBALD Clugston, m. 8 Jul 1865 to a John Wolstencroft (age 35, b. 1830) at Oldham, Lancs. Does anyone know if this is the same Mary, daughter of Archibald, brewer in the IOM (died 3 Dec 1838 at 25 years)? (On his grave the name is Clogson). Can anyone help w/the monumental inscription?
In an 1841 census at Rynwillen, PSM:
Archibald Sr 65,
Mary (Shaw) 60,
Richard (their son) 20,
MARY 7(?-is this her? Archie dead, maybe Archie & Mary helping out?)
William 10, illeg. son of James
Margaret 4 (might be dhtr of Archie & Marg. Kinvig?)
Here's more to the mystery: I found a birth of Eliza Clugston Clucas, 21 Mar 1834 Kirk Rushen, father: Archabald Clogstone, mother: Ann Clucas. There is an Ann Clucas, 30, F.S. at Rhinwyllen in the 1841 Census. Any verification of these would be greatly appreciated.
