Mary Joughin

Hi

I am once again trying to sort out female antecedents. This time it is Mary Joughin. I believe she married John Kneen 22 May 1777 Bride.
They had 4 children:
John (21Jul1778 Ramsey),
William (17Nov1780 Ramsey),
Ewan (7Mar1783 Maug),
Daniel (11Jan1786 Ramsey) (my G3-GF)

Ewan is never found again as far as I can see.

Anyway, Mary...
In the IGI, I find a Mary born 20 Oct 1757 Lezayre to William Joughin and Joney Kneale. In addition there is an Isabelle born to WK and JK (30 Nov 1766 Ramsey). William Joughin and Joney Kneale were married 11 Dec 1756, Lezayre.
I also find William (1 Jun 1765 Ramsey) and Margaret (9 Oct 1759 Maug) born to William Joughin and Judith Kneale. Judith (Kneale) Joughin appears to be bur 12 May 1804 Bride, but no will evident.
There is some suggestion that Joney and Judith are the same. The birth dates of the children are interestingly paired.

Other Mary Joughins are:
bapt 15 Apr 1744 Bride, father Danl. Joughin
bapt 18 Dec 1748 Bride, father William Joughin

Both these seem too old, so it would seem like the one born in 1757 is a likely match.

BUT...
There are three Bride wills in MNB, two of which specifically link a Mary Joughin to John Kneen.

1772-2 E d Joughhin, William d 19 Mar 1772. ch Wm and Isabel, both ua (wife Margt) - he appears to be bur 19 Mar 1772 Bride

1784 A 135 Joughin, William made 20 Jan 1784. dau mary (w/o john kneen) son wm exor - he appears to be bur 2 Feb 1784 Bride

1796 A 60 Joughen, Margaret. made 14 Mar 1789. dau mary kneen als joughin w/o john ramsey. gdau Margt do son wm, gson wm joughin; son wm exor - she has no burial date that fits

(I think this Margaret Joughin may have been Margaret Quine and that she remarried (William Clarke, Jurby 8 May 1781), and was bur 7 Jun 1805 Lez (Clarke als Joughin). But it seems a bit odd that she made this will under the name Joughin some years after her remarriage (maybe not?) - there appears to be an 1805 Lezayre will for her as Margaret Clarke)

THEN...
There are two Maughold wills:
1752-2 E d Joughin, Mary (Kerruish). d 9 jan;only dau mary ua (her gmo jane Joughin [?kerruish] + cath cowle als casement supv);husb james
1753-2 E d Kerruish, Thomas s/o thos (dfecd 1738) died 10 years ago in minority;next of kindred Mary Joughin ua gmo jane kerruish + gtaunt cath cowle supv;inv of sd thos + mo mary in gfa thos kerruish 1738;

I'm thinking this Mary would also be too old. Both these wills are transcribed and don't reveal any more.

I guess the obvious solution is to get hold of the other wills, as well as the parish films, but if anyone is able to offer clarification, I'd be grateful.

Thanks!
Malea
